Vaccination options - for your information.

COVID VACCINATIONS

The roll-out of the Covid 19 vaccination program is underway and is being welcomed with optimism.

It does appear that there are no vaccination centres within an immediate radius of Ashreigney and Riddlecombe.

If any Parishioners are concerned about making arrangments to travel to a centre please contact any of the contacts listed on the Parish letter which you will receive in the post.

Wallingbrook Health Centre has indicated that provision is being made for those patients who have problems attending a vaccination centre.

Domestic Abuse - Note from Wallingbrook Health Centre.

As we all adapt to 'lockdown,' and cope with the added concerns of Coronavirus, it is understandable that stress levels are high. It is anticipated that, unfortunately, this could cause some individuals to feel threatened in their homes.  Support is available.

One way that abusers control their victims is to isolate them from friends and family.

Enforced isolation due to Coronavirus may increase domestic abuse.

If you or someone you know is suffering abuse, help is available. Call 0808 2000 247 or visit: https://www.victimcaredevonandcornwall.org.uk/…

PLEASE FIND A COPY OF AN OPEN LETTER WHICH HAS BEEN DELIVERED TO HOUSEHOLDS IN ASHREIGNEY AND RIDDLECOMBE. THIS IS ALSO ON THE 'HOME' PAGE OF THE WEBSITE.

Advice has been received today that anyone who considers themselves vulnerable during this situation SHOULD register for the following GOV.UK Scheme (PLEASE see link below):

Get coronavirus support as an extremely vulnerable person

Register if you have a medical condition that makes you extremely vulnerable to coronavirus. For example, you’ll be able to ask for help getting deliveries of essential supplies like food.

If you’re not sure whether your medical condition makes you extremely vulnerable, register anyway.

You can register yourself, or on behalf of someone else.

Before you start

If you know it, it’s useful to have your NHS number to hand. You can find it on any letter the NHS has sent you or on a prescription.

This service is available in England. If you do not live in England, there’s guidance for:

ThPlease consider circulating the information below to your council colleagues and other appropriate groups and individuals. e message and link above was taken from advice received from DCC.

Information form TDC regarding waste & recycling services.

This page lists current known issues with Torridge District Councils waste or recycling service. If you wish to report a missed collection you can do so online here https://www.torridge.gov.uk/article/17107/Missed-Collections or by calling 01237 428700 option 3.

The majority of service in Torridge has so far not been affected by the Coronavirus crisis apart from the closure of DCC Recycling Centres and the suspension of Bulky items collections - see below. However in some instances there may be some crew swaps to cover sickness or absence and so some collection rounds may get to certain areas later than they would normally. We would ask our customers to be patient during this period and not report any suspected missed collections until the following day.

As the coronavirus situation develops we may need to change our approach and prioritise some service areas such as refuse collection over kerbside recycling if we experience high levels of staff absence or other disruption. We haven't yet reached that stage and our crews are working hard to ensure that the normal levels of service are maintained. Should we need to make any changes to our services we will share information on the Torridge District Council website and social media as soon as any updates are available. Please check the website and Torridge District Council social media pages regularly for any updates.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING HOUSEHOLD WASTE RECYCLING CENTRES! In order to keep both staff and the public safe ALL Devon County Council Household Waste Recycling Centres have been closed until further notice: See https://www.devon.gov.uk/wasteandrecycling/centre/ ... As a result of this ALL Bulky Item collections have been suspended as well.

GUIDANCE FOR PEOPLE WITH CONFIRMED OR POSSIBLE COVID 19: HOW TO DISPOSE OF WASTE

•KEEP YOUR WASTE INSIDE FOR AT LEAST 72 HOURS AND DOUBLE BAG THE WASTE.

•Store personal waste (like used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths securely in rubbish bags.

•Place these bags within a second bag, tie it securely and store it in a separate room from where you are self-isolating.

•Keep the bags there for AT LEAST 72 HOURS before putting them out after 6pm on the night before your usual collection day.

•Recycling and garden waste can be placed in your usual bins.

•Please keep recycling if you can, but please keep your recycling for at least 72 hours after your self isolating period.
